So, you hear a lot about these types of numbers, and have probably seen repeating digits a maddening number of times throughout the day that clearly violate the 50-50 coin-flip chance and probability that “should” occur according to random-chance mathematics. In fact, seeing these numbers often enough is likely why you’re visiting a page like this in the first place. So, here we start with the most basic of “master” numbers, where you have the same digit repeating itself once in the number. It’s always been a traditional viewpoint that since you have the same exact digit repeating itself, that this is a very special, rare and unique situation, and so such numbers should not be easily dismissed and reduced to the simple sum of those digits, but instead hold very exceptional meanings. Supposedly, these “super” numbers hold an unusual and massive amount of potential energy which can be used either as instruments to create amazing feats, or as weapons to create terrible disasters in one’s own life; of course this depends on how they are used.
11
Everyone knows this as the “illuminator” and as the number representing channeling “higher knowledge” and “higher learning.” In fact, one school of thought likes to ascribe the zodiac sign number with this particular number which it represents in the sequence from 1-12, so 11 here would be Aquarius; hence, this could be a possible reason for these qualities of “illumination” and “higher learning” being associated with this number. Interestingly, I’ve read before that the two parallel zigzags of this sign are like an “11” flipped on its side, representing either waves or water or even lines of electricity, symbolizing sudden conceptual lightning bolts that strike through the darkness of ignorance to illuminate and “shock” us into epiphanies we couldn’t see before. Then, it’s been stated that this is a “highly strung” number which must undergo difficult tests in life and has a tendency towards extremes of being terrible or excellent, depending on whether it fails or passes these tests of life; to a point, I generally agree with these interpretations. Another very interesting explanation of the 11 I had come across was that it is a highly evolved “2,” which somehow transforms the 2’s traditionally cooperative, “peace-loving” and passive nature into a highly motivated leader who still retains the empathy and compassion of the 2, but combines it with traditional 1-type qualities of initiative, innovation, courage and creativity to become a spiritual leader of sorts; on the other hand, the 2 is then depicted as the less evolved and demoted form of the “11,” where it slumps back into passivity and doubt according to traditional viewpoints. Now, I can add to this list the traits of: indecision, division, oversensitivity and emotional extremes from Duality. For the most part, I agree with these elucidations of the 11; however, I would like remind you again of what I had mentioned in Perfect 10, that the 11 to me is a higher octave, graduated “1.” Additionally, so that I don’t have to beat this point to death repeatedly, all the numbers here that follow can also be seen as graduated/higher-octave forms of their single digit relatives. Lastly, using this same concept as a template of having a master number depicted as a higher expression and the lower expression as the sum of the digits of that same master number, I formulated my own insights for the master numbers that follow.
22
Remember the term “master builder”? Dude, I can’t recount how many times this SEO term has been shoved in my face from Google pages. So yes, according to this line of thought, the 22 takes what the 11 conceives of mentally, and focuses it more into a solid concrete form in the physical world, and this particular association with “physical, tangible reality” is probably why the individual digits add up to a 4 (2+2), as I mentioned this number’s association with materiality. The image I get here is to take the erratic and unstable lightning bolts of the 11, and to “freeze” them into stable solidity, and so the shape of the two two’s of the 22 reflect this: where the two straight vertical lines of the 11 now have rightward curves introduced on their top halves (ie. the “2” digit), which almost seems like the lightning bolts of the 11 (with their straight downward “1” shaped digits) have been delayed and now follow a curved path downward (again, the shape of the “2” digit), which can be synonymous with this slow freezing/stabilizing process that I have just described. Unsurprisingly then, the folks who are represented by this number in some way are supposed to be visionary builders, architects and doers, who bring some type of magical creations to physical life. Here we again see the 22 vs 4 dichotomy, where the 22’s creative manifesting potential can degenerate to the lower expression of the single 4, which is solely based on being practical-to-a-fault, rigid, stiff, overly hesitant, pathologically conscientious, ruled by “rules,” narrow-minded, and stuck in the rut of only material obsessions and existence.
33
Here we see the double 3 as an emphasis on social service (influence of the 3) in the sense of being connected and in tune with others as a collective. This is a natural progression from the simple, ego-boosting social extroversion of the ordinary 3 to an expanded awareness of using one’s popularity and influence for the actual benefit of others in addition to oneself. Of course, the 33, when functioning as an ordinary 3, may effortlessly fall prey to only seeking one’s own self-centred fun and enjoyment to the point of wanton abandon and consequently, to the reckless and liberal overindulgence seen in the various self-destructive vices of the 6 after the addition of the two threes.
44
The 44/8 is a pragmatic builder who, much like the 3, shares an emphasis on societal wellbeing; yet, here there’s a particular emphasis on building solid structures for the service and stability of society, whether that be physical buildings or beneficial concepts, ideas and knowledge for such welfare. This is in contrast to the 33/6 polarity, which is simply about being a role model for societal unity and cooperation as a whole in the higher expression, versus focusing on oneself. So, we can again reverse the process and add the two fours together to get the 8, which, I feel, is indicative of one’s focus being entirely centred on their own material wealth and acquisitions.
55
The way I see the 55/10 scenario is that I perceive the 55 as the potential for infinite change, evolution and development versus the “perfected stagnation” of the 10, because again, though it may be considered to be the perfect first number in the set of the first ten numbers, it can limit our growth and potential as we assume the role of the “perfect” master who no longer requires any further learning; consequently through this illusion, we remain in a state of arrested development. Of course, this is in contradiction to my view of the 55 as also being the eternal student. But, we must also consider that the 10 can be further reduced to a 1 (1 + 0) as many numerologists like to do. So then what would this mean? Well, the 55 is special in the sense that it has two “demoted” or “degenerated” forms of expression due to one’s satisfaction on having become a master at a particular skill or in a certain field, and this leads to the negative qualities of the 10, as aforementioned. But, there is also another way the 55 can warp into a lesser and more twisted, crooked and negative expression of itself: that upon realizing one’s potential to infinitely evolve and change (the double 5 influence), one takes on a certain quality of “immortality” in the sense of always being able to bounce back from trauma and to eternally go on growing and developing without any foreseeable limitation; however, this can bestow upon one a certain ego upon such a realization, and one can become easily wrapped up in one’s own individual power to infinitely evolve, adapt, grow, change and creatively develop that one develops a narcissistic superiority, pride and power complex with delusions of one’s own grandeur, and will then tend to consider themselves above others and push around and display their “power.” So, this very much agrees with the darker “1” traits, to which the 55 can also fall down to through the aforementioned “10” digits then being added together (ie. 1+0= 1): selfishness, a ruthless tunnel-vision disregard for others whilst pursuing goals, lack of tact, an inability to compromise, a rude and crude simplicity of behaviour, and as mentioned, an over-inflated ego.
66 and Beyond
See, now this gets complicated because after the 55, the next numbers all involve sums of same double digit numbers that have not been defined and are beyond the scope this article (at least for now), for example, for 66, 6 + 6= 12, and the 12 not yet being discussed in-depth, other than being a graduated “2,” for example. However, I will just say this: for now, I would treat these higher master numbers as simply having their double digits place an exaggerated emphasis on whatever the respective same single digit represented, and this is in accordance with what your traditional numerologists state anyways. For instance, 66 would put the themes of material enjoyment, balance, rest, harmony and family on steroids; the 77 would follow suit with a focus on spiritual or material knowledge; the 88 would force you to acknowledge issues concerning material abundance, wealth, empire and legacy-building; of course, 99 would loudly trumpet things like spiritual integration, warrior-ship, retrospection and review; lastly, the 00 (where the two zeroes are much like the multiple o’s at the end of an over-emphasized “hello” when someone is saying “helloooo” to you because of your inattention to them) is yelling into your ear the concept of completions, endings, and cycles.
