And now, we cross the 6’s bridge to arrive at the stop known as number 7. Much has already been written about the lucky VLT number 7, you know, the bread- and-butter stuff like: that it’s a symbol of mysticism, spirituality, the divine, the mysterious; and, that it may represent study, knowledge, research (especially of mystical subjects) and a tendency to be alone; and also, like the VLT example, it may represent luck and fortune. Because of this, there’s not a heavy amount of novel ideas I can add to this most mysterious number. Though I tend to agree with these traditional associations of the 7, I think there are a few things that can be added to these concepts to further exemplify their meanings and more deeply illustrate their roles in the functioning of this mysterious number.
Firstly, since the 7 is a logical progression beyond the 6, this would mean that the transition bridge between humanity to divinity has basically been crossed to attain the realization of one’s spiritual nature. But, this isn’t the end, as development and evolution goes on infinitely; so for now, this would mean that the daily maintenance and growth of such spirituality would need to occur. It’s like this common theme in life where the first battle is always about outdoing rivals to achieve a goal, but it truly never ends, as once you reach it, then comes the 2nd battle of maintaining and even improving that position, whether that be against actual jealous competitors and challengers in a championship, or subtler ones like your own relentless negative limiting beliefs and doubts to derail you from your spiritual path.
Next, the relationship between 7 and themes like knowledge and research is another commonly held concept. Relatedly then, I view the symbol of the number 7 as a flaming torch, where the upward slanted line is the held torch and the top horizontal line is like the flame trailing backwards as the torch-bearer walks forward with it. So what’s my point? Well, the torch can be thought of as a symbol of illumination, clarity and bringing things to light, and isn’t this precisely how the process of research and the gathering of knowledge occurs? Oh, what’s that you say? Yes, I am quite aware of the existence of modern electric lighting, thank you very much. But let’s face it, what would you find more cool, classic and heroic, a puny electric light bulb or tube, or a muscular figure that’s proudly hoisting a flaming torch? Hence the example…Anyways, this could take on a myriad of meanings, ranging from something like the scientific research and discovery of the mysterious causes of a disease, to an honest self-examination as to the causes of a certain negative behavioural pattern, for example. But also consider for a moment that the shape of the 7 resembles a slanted upward line meeting the ceiling of a horizontal line, which to me signifies the readiness of an individual to transcend, break through and cross over the limit of the ceiling of the horizontal line, symbolizing personal limitations or ignorance; so then the slanted line colliding with the horizontal one may represent the transcendence over such limitations and ignorance with the light of knowledge. In fact, I find there’s always some degree of overlap and shared qualities between various numbers. For example, I referred to the 5 as almost being like a beacon of full self consciousness, allowing us to bring deep hidden things, patterns and habits to light, well I feel the 7 builds upon this same idea introduced in the 5; only this time, it really goes to town with it by engaging in deep self analysis and reflection on these same issues, whilst coming up with solutions to them as well.
Thirdly, we have a presentation of the 7 being a lone-wolf type. Now you may ask, isn’t this the function of the 1? Well, you’d be correct to ask this question, as both seemingly represent aloneness; however, the important distinction, at least in my mind, is that the 1 is more of a pure aloneness in a general sense. In contrast, the 7 is more of an introspective aloneness of self-analysis; ya know, the kind where fresh high school graduates solo travel to other countries to figure out their life paths before commencing college or university. It’s almost like a meditation in the sense that one is analyzing oneself deeply enough to clarify one’s nature and workings of one’s mind, therefore, we could even say the 7 directly relates to a need to meditate, pray or engage in other spiritual practices.
Then comes 7’s link with the theme of perfection. Now, I feel somewhat uncomfortable about touching on this subject again because it seems that many numbers can be seen to embody this quality in their own unique way. As for the 7, it’s not the type of perfection you can achieve by the successive addition of serial numbers starting from the 1 like the 6 does, but rather its perfection can be illustrated by various themes of wholeness, like 7 days in a week, 7 continents, 7 seas, 7 musical notes, 7 spots on a ladybug and 7 principal electron energy levels; but, it’s interesting to note that the 7 colours in a rainbow correspond to the specific colours of the subtle energy centers or “chakras” of the human body. In the aforementioned examples, there is a noticeable recurring theme of completeness and conclusion shown by the 7 being the final part, step or state in all of these, which means that this number likely signifies an ongoing concept of completeness, wholeness and fullness in our lives. Of course, this is very subjective as completeness and wholeness could range from anything such as finding the key missing part of a complex puzzle for one person, to achieving a career milestone for another, to finding an ultimate state of spiritual bliss for yet a third person.
Rolling onwards, the 7 is considered to be lucky, so it’s by no accident that I used the VLT machine example in the intro. So could the 7’s luck relate to the material world as well? Well the way I see it is this: the 6 may indicate material wealth on its own, but the 7 may represent a completeness of wealth where an individual has accumulated spiritual wealth which is then reflected with an abundance of material wealth. But this can be a tricky subject because the 8 is also intimately tied to material abundance. So let me sort it all out: I see the 6 more as immediate pleasure, enjoyment, comfort and luxury of material wealth in the here and now, without too much thought about the future, kinda like high school grads who are able to blow their cash from part time jobs on one final limo ride after graduation before they have to fill their bank accounts again by working overtime. This is in contrast to the wise, stern, business-headed 8 which is like an efficient and professional long term establishment, empire, or self-sustaining wealth machine which will keep on churning out gold tokens almost indefinitely, much like a stable and lucrative career supposedly would. Ok, but all we care about is the 7 here, so what’s it’s role in all this mess of material wealth? Well, in order to reach the money machine of the 8, sheer hard work by itself is not always guaranteed to yield the results you want, because you may need some degree of luck as well, and this is exactly where the 7 comes in: it may be the hidden factor that bestows enough luck and fortune to propel us forward into the 8’s wealth empire. That’s why I sometimes feel the number 678 precisely summarizes this whole fluid and successive process of material wealth accumulation, but I don’t want to get too ahead of myself here for this simple article.
To reiterate then, the 7 can be reminding us that we currently are in, or are required to incorporate a more spiritual state of being in our lives. Additionally, it could be predicting a need to gather information and knowledge about a certain issue or problem in our lives, or that the truth and clarity about such an issue is not far from arrival. Then, we touched on the reclusive nature of the 7, which, tying into the previous theme, encourages us to shut out outside people and distractions for a while, introspect and go within to unravel the knowledge and truth about something in our lives, which in a way can also indicate a need for any type of spiritual practices like prayer and meditation , for example. Next, we touched on the concept of the 7 as a sign of completeness and wholeness. So, as a practical application, which also links back to the theme of research and seeking of knowledge, frequent glimpses of this number could be telling us to either assess a problem or issue as a whole and complete entity with a big-picture point of view, as opposed to dissecting it into tiny, separate bits and pieces. Further along this vein, it could be showing us that magical final touch, step, solution or missing piece of an entire long standing, difficult and complex problem, much like an artist who, after creating a perfect masterpiece of a painting (the 6), glazes that work of art as the final touch to really take that perfection to the next level (the 7). Alternately, if the 6 symbolized a smooth and harmonious flow between the different parts of our lives, then the 7 would be the icing on the cake, with the addition of that last critical factor which would lift us above our perceived perfection (and inertia, as is seen with all even numbers) of the material world of the 6 to the ultimate bliss of the spiritual 7, so that we have truly reached a relative sense of completeness between materialism and mysticism. Then to finish off, the 7 could simply be the much needed good luck sign in our lives that everything is about to take a turn for the better after perhaps being stuck in a long cycle where life has become a difficult, brutal and painful uphill battle for a long period of time. Couldn’t we all use that?
